    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assisting with research into fundraising asks, looking at what worked well in the past to assess any potential gaps. Meeting people from all over the organisation to learn more about CRUK and its wider network, attending workshops and meetings. Leading my own research into social fundraising, CRUK's online presence and its success/ any areas for growth.

  • Communication across a large organisation, building new relationships with numerous different stakeholders. Time management and assisting with numerous tasks. My confidence in presenting findings has grown massively, being able to contribute in meetings.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • To start with I was assisting with tasks and being briefed on a range of element to develop my understanding of CRUK. But I have definitely been given my own tasks and feel responsible for this research and presenting my findings to senior staff.

  • The company have a great work culture and offer flexible working from home. Its a very inspiring and motivating work environment.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I am half-way through my 12-week internship and its been amazing so far. Coming out of university and trying to get started in the charity sector can be difficult. CRUK have been great at teaching me so much about the organisation and helping my personal skills develop.
