The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working at VB, the role itself was varied and interesting and I was in a really friendly team.
I felt extremely valued by my team. They gave me the impression everything would fall apart if I went away, which was nice.
I had a great manager who would always offer her advice and support, however she wasnt always in the office. Other members of the team were also really helpful.
Some days I would be rushed off my feet and other days I would be a bit bored.
I was given more responsibility as the year went on and I was eventually running projects with my managers advice if I asked for it.
My communications skills have developed and I am now more confident than I was 12 months ago. At VB I had the opportunity to go on learning & development courses. I attended excel and word courses as well as a course on improving presentation skills. This will be extremely useful in my final year
The Company
Good bunch of people but certain members of the team not pulling their weight caused tension and
It was really well organised. Within my first few days I had a welcome meeting and I was introduced to different parts of the organisation. All of the placement students got together for lunch once a month which was nice.
We were given the opportunity to attend a number of Learning & development courses from dealing with pressure to developing your excel skills. Something for everyone.

VisitBritains future is uncertain so going back might not be a good move however in terms of the job role and the people it is a great place to work.
The Culture
We met for lunch regularly and will stay in touch after university.
My salary wasnt great and after my train season ticket and rent I didnt have much to socialise with.
There were a number of bars but its a bit out of the way from the main train stations so a lot of people leave early.
Not really much to do out of work, talk of a football team but never heard anything about it.
