About VisitBritain
VisitBritain is the name of the British Tourist Authority (the tourist board of Great Britain). They were founded in April 2003, by the Department for Culture to help market the United Kingdom to tourists from the rest of the world.
Tourism is currently worth £126.9 billion to the UK’s economy and as one of Britain’s largest exports, inbound tourism’s economic contribution is currently valued at £26.2 billion.
VisitBritain works with the UK Trade & Investment department as well as; airlines, travel operators, global brands and the official tourism bodies for London, England, Scotland and Wales.
