    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I genuinely enjoyed the insight week because it offered an insight into all the business areas. Some of the other investment banks require you to specify an area which you have an interest in, but as a first year student you're unlikely to have made up your mind concretely. I furthermore enjoyed the numerous networking opportunities provided by Morgan Stanley.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Morgan Stanley company representatives were all very down to earth, despite what I expected. Even very senior individuals of the firm were willing to invest their time and answer questions.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • In terms of support, the spring insight week was very well managed by HR and we always knew where to go/what to do and if there were any questions, HR were more than willing to answer them.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The insight week was very well organised and ran smoothly. We were given a timetable at the beginning of the week to guide us through each day. Furthermore, every morning, HR representatives would recap what we were going to do, where we were going to be etc.
