The Role
I genuinely enjoyed the insight week because it offered an insight into all the business areas. Some of the other investment banks require you to specify an area which you have an interest in, but as a first year student you're unlikely to have made up your mind concretely. I furthermore enjoyed the numerous networking opportunities provided by Morgan Stanley.
Morgan Stanley company representatives were all very down to earth, despite what I expected. Even very senior individuals of the firm were willing to invest their time and answer questions.
In terms of support, the spring insight week was very well managed by HR and we always knew where to go/what to do and if there were any questions, HR were more than willing to answer them.
We had an eventful week planned for us and were kept busy with tasks, presentations, networking opportunities, shadowing opportunities etc.

We took part in sessions such as improving one's public speaking skills and also business etiquette etc. which are applicable to life in general.
The Company
The insight week was very well organised and ran smoothly. We were given a timetable at the beginning of the week to guide us through each day. Furthermore, every morning, HR representatives would recap what we were going to do, where we were going to be etc.
I found that in terms of personal training and development, Morgan Stanley were really keen on helping us to improve ourselves and were genuinely concerned about interns getting the most out of the week.
Subsidised Canteen
I have secured a summer analyst placement in IBD with them
