The Role
I found the people really good company and always happy to help but found the work somtimes monotonous.
I was in two different teams on my placement. The first team were made me feel very valued and an important part of the team. In the other team I was given easier, tedious work to complete.
The supervisors, managers and team leaders on my placement were always very helpful and had regular meetings with me to see how I was doing.
Some days I was very busy, particularly when working to tight deadlines. However, sometimes, when there were not many people in the office, I had much less work to do.
I was given quite a lot of responsibilty and was given key roles in many projects, making me really feel like part of the team.
I have improved vastly in computer packages and programming which I had very little expertise in before. I have also developed as a person over my placement year.
The Company
The people on my placement were good company, however, sometimes the office was very quiet, even silent, due to the complex work taking place.
The placement was very well organised with RSA having previous links and experience with placement students from Surrey University.
I was given good training in all of the packages and computer programs that I had to use, just as much as any other employee. I was also given a lot of meetings with mangers and supervisors, one on one, to check my progress.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
The company has a global graduate assessment centre which I attended to perhaps get a place on the scheme.
The Culture
I was the only placement student there but other colleagues around my age group made me feel welcome and invited me to join in on many social events.
I commuted from home to save money over my placement year. Horsham is in Sussex and is quite an expensive area.
There were a few pubs and restaurants around the area but for clubs trips to London or Brighton would have to be made.
there were alot of social and charity events organised outside work as well as sports events, and all were very easy to get involved with.
