The Role
Was a great way to learn a lot in a shor period of time.
Everyone started at the same time so made it easy to meet people right from the start. Also all the staff were eager to help and were happy to answer any queries I had.
Staff from all across the firm gave time to speak to us. This extended to managing directors who were happy to give up their time to help us gain a usual insight into all levels of the firm.
We were kept very busy with interesting things to do and talks from members of the bank. I enjoyed this as it allowed us to learn as much as possible in a short period of time.
We were given responsibility for our own presentations and team activities. However, when you are at a bank for a week you wouldnt expect much responsibility.
Helped a lot with public speaking and general interview skills.
The Company
Varied department to department but the way the course was set up made it a non stop experience.
Extremely well organised, above all expectations.
They gave time in developing interview skills, public speaking and C.V. writing. All of these were extremely helpful.
Subsidised Canteen
I am doing a summer internship programme with the bank.
The Culture
We were all taken out for a meal together at the end of the week and went to a bar together.
London as a whole is not cheap. This extends to the area around Canary Wharf where the office was. Although the firm paid for almost everything.
There were some nice bars, but as I was ther for only a week I can't really say.
I was only there for a week so for me personally there werent many. However the bank has many clubs available to full time employees.
