  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time with Costain, I was able to develop skills I gained at university and adapt to the working environment. I worked with a really good group of people who were always willing to give me a hand and help me learn.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given as much support as required by the different members of the team. If i was ever stuck or unsure as to how to do something, support was always available to me.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the start of the placement I wasn't too busy as the department was between projects, the members of the office team tried to find work for me to do that would be relevant which I really appreciated. As the department started on the new project my work load became bigger and I was very busy on a daily basis.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As my placement progressed I was given more responsibility as I became a more trusted member of the team. Towards the end of the placement I was dealing directly with the client on some occasions and had my own pieces of work to complete that were to be presented to the client.

I found the experience I had the opportunities I was given will benefit me more in my future career.
