The Role
The work was varied and enjoyable. I learnt a lot
Very welcoming team
Very supportive, always on hand to give guidance
Fluctuated depending on how much work there was in the office. If I had a spare moment I could ask someone and they would usually provide me with some more work.
I worked on tasks which contributed towards the projects which were completed during my time at Hoare lea, the work I did aided the completion of several projects. The amount of responsibility and independence increased as the placement went on as people became more confident in my abilities.
A lot of new skills which will be useful for life. Autocad, HEVACOMP, industry experience
The Company
Standard office environment
Structured with clear objectives, very flexible around what I wanted to learn
Had access to all the relevant computer software, company paid for visits to site, frequent lunchtime lectures from external companies to develop knowledge.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, awaiting a discussion on my potential future with the company
The Culture
Few placement students and living away from the company made this difficult
I commuted from Southampton where I already rent
Lived in Southampton so never experienced the night-life here
A lot of opportunities which I didn't take advantage of
