Overview
Designing HVAC services for buildings, done primarily in REVIT (a building services 3D modelling tool). This is supplemented by occasional site visits, and working with other software on other disciplines.
Skills
Yes- I had not been exposed to any of the software the company uses before and I now consider myself proficient in all of them. I was also afforded an insight into the corporate structure for the first time, which was invaluable.
Responsibilities
Initially no, although, as my skills developed, my colleagues trusted me with increasingly difficult tasks that were more self-directed which was much more rewarding.
Support & Guidance
All the members of my team were very approachable and accommodated any questions I had.
Culture
The company is inclusive and well-run, I felt very comfortable there.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it greatly- I learned a lot of invaluable new skills and developed a lot as a person.
Yes
Build up your knowledge of building services beforehand- very few people know what we do so it's a huge boost to your application.
