Overview
during my placement i predominantly worked designing ventilation and heating systems for buildings. this meant using Auto cad, Revit and pdf's as well as excel to produce a series of drawings to be issued to a client to inform the 'fit out' of there building.
Skills
i leaned how to use all the appropriate softwares as well as time management skills and how to communicate within a larger internal and external team.
Responsibilities
i feel i was given lots of opportunities to produce my own work and was trusted todo so. as internal policy all work at HL is internally reviewed irrespective of the individuals level, this instilled confidence that any mistakes i made would be found and brought back to me to help me understand and improve for future work.
Support & Guidance
i had regular mentoring meetings with my line manager as well as being supported by wellbeing officers within the wider office. i was supported on both my personal and work life enabling me to grow and improve as well as manage ongoing problems.
Culture
very good, while at HL i went sailing, skiing and was a member of the company band, we would go out as an office for food or drinks multiple times a month also. within the work day we were encouraged to use break out spaces to work or socialize in a less formal environment.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed my placement and look forward to rejoining HL after I graduate.
Yes
