  • The work assigned to me was challenging but rewarding. I also learned a lot during my internship.

  • My team were very welcoming and I knew a couple from the previous year.

  • My mentor was more than willing to help whenever I needed it.

  • Most days I was busy enough to keep work interesting but without feeling pressured.

  • All the interns are assigned meaningful projects and given a lot of responsibility.

  • There was a lot of focus on learning new skills, I picked up a whole new language.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone is obviously hard at work, but there is a great, light-hearted atmosphere.

  • I had no problems at all, although if I had there were plenty of people around happy to help out.

  • A lot of my time, especially towards the start was spent learning about the project and skills that I would need for the task.

  • Very appealing. Free biscuits, flexi hours and a really interesting job.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The Edinburgh interns, especially the ones sharing a flat were really tight knit.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The accommodation was heavily subsidized, especially considering that we were staying in the center of Edinburgh during the Fringe festival.
