    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed the experience. Particularly the exposure to so much of the bank we were given.

  • They treated me with respect and gave me a good amount of work to do. They were also very happy to answer all of my questions.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support network for us was excellent. Everyone is assigned a manager, a current person on the grad scheme and two senior employees.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My team were very good. No crazily early starts or late nights, really was a 9-6 job.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A fair amount of responsibility and I was given a lot of independence which was great.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It was an invaluable experience, from just living and working in London for 10 weeks, soft skills such as networking, to more technical skills such as the programmes and excel.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People worked hard and concentrated but most people were happy to chat. There are 3 large screen TVs on each side of the office so you are able to watch the news and all the big events.

  • HR were very good.

  • People spent a lot of time teaching us.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • A lot of people were up for going out for meals and drinks.

  • canary wharf is expensive!

  • Lots of bars and restaurants around.
