The Role
Very enjoyable internship. Challenging, but fair and important work, excellent networking opportunities and a great learning experience.
Formal and informal networking opportunities, coupled with a culture of actually having interns to solve problems rather than for the sake of having interns, fostered a great environment for an internship.
Immediate support from team was excellent, however the support/guidance from management was somewhat sparse due to busy-ness. However with the extensive documents I received when I arrived, and the support from my team, this wasn't particularly necessary.
Workload varied quite a lot - there were days I had to stay quite late. However this was far from the norm, and most days I spent busy, but not overwhelmed.
What I was doing wasn't essential, but useful. It included a lot of stuff which people would have liked to have done if they had the time. I was generally the main person responsible for the projects I took on.
Single most useful thing I've done so far in my work/educational career.
The Company
Work focused, but friendly. There was plenty of time to socialize over lunch or coffee, and people were friendly. Design of the office was very pleasant.
Only wish it were longer!
Lots of time and training, lots of feedback, and a far above average intern salary made it clear that we were an important investment.

The Culture
Company events and group projects fostered a great social scene.
Cheaper than many other places, but not the cheapest place I've lived/worked. You can very comfortably live on the intern salary
Had some great nights out.
More opportunities for volunteering, sports, trips and networking than there are days in the week!
