The Role
Really interesting insight into the food buying business. Very varied work - spreadsheets, but also lots of meetings with suppliers and internally.
Felt very valued by my boss and her close colleagues. However, some of the wider team were a bit less accessible.
Lots of guidance from my line manager and the team managing interns - from help with little projects, to being supported over the whole internship with development days and contacts.
Normally pretty busy, with lots of little projects on the go, but rarely rushed off my feet.
Was given a lot of responsibility to do minor tasks, and some responsibility for more important tasks like presentations.
I've learnt a lot about food buying, and the commercial world overall - so this will definitely help me in later working life.
The Company
Friendly, collaborative atmosphere - easy to go up to people and ask them. Not exactly a constant party, but a nice office environment.
Good projects put in place to keep us busy. Overall internship was well organised by the team.
Had the chance to go on development days and was sent on special courses to acquire skills. Firm also allowed me to come to a range of events, such as meetings across England, which obviously cost them money.

Very much so - internship made me want to work there full time after graduation. Chance to get a job if you perform wel.
The Culture
Mostly organised amongst ourselves, such as regular pub trips after work. Also some social events organised by company, such as a ball.
Cheap but I lived at home, so hard to say.
Other than 2 pubs, there's nothing in Cheshunt itself (where food internship is based), but quick train connections to London.
Some activities, such as a sports day and charity events - it was what you chose to make of it.
