    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • In DE&Is investigation into outside partnerships relating to DE&I at Tesco, I took part. More than twenty conference calls with interested parties were arranged by me to go over the details of the partners we worked with, including their names, the benefits of their services, the price for Tesco, the confidentiality elements they emphasise, who is in charge of the relationship, and any prior information. I gathered a lot of information and gave it to my senior colleagues to persuade them to think more deeply.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The capacity I have to interact with people from various backgrounds has improved as a result of facilitating interactions with many different kinds of stakeholders. I had a total of four chances to make presentations live to audiences, and this helped me improve my skills in presenting. Throughout the duration of my project, I additionally worked with others on my team, and this provided many opportunities of opportunity for criticism as well as made me to grow more self-aware.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • In the last few weeks of the my work experience, I had been given a significant task that I had to complete on my own and present to my third-level manager. If I had not completed the task, no one could have done it in my place. My assignment involved an assessment of the current state of affairs with with regard to outside DE&I partners so that we could plan how to best align our present situation with the organisation DE&I agenda.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was provided with a colleague who was on the graduate plan at the moment and had just finished the exact same internship as me (in a different team). They had previously been through numerous of the same things I had, so I could seek out them when I needed guidance and support. This was tremendously helpful. Considering that I was physically competent to complete all the chores required, I did not require any training for my position.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone has a welcoming as well as relaxed atmosphere everywhere. Staff members who additionally have been working at The supermarket chain for a lengthy period are intimately acquainted with every person in the company. Only a single individual, out of the many I searched for to establish relationships with, proved unwilling to speak to me because their schedules were so busy. Sadly, there is a lot of back-stabbing and gossiping going on here, just like in many other workplaces.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • There were times when there were better as well as worse internship weeks. I started out with trouble because my impairment was not handled with respect and the task at hand was not provided with clear instructions. I informed my supervisors and coworkers about how I was feeling, yet barely anything was accomplished to accommodate me. I persisted in spite of everything and managed to finish my project to the appropriate standard and confidently represent it to senior stakeholders.
