    • My colleagues treated me as if I was a new full-time starter.

    • I was left to figure some things out for myself but my supervisor was always happy to walk me though something if I had difficulty with it.

    • I always had some work to do, but I was not overworked

    • I worked on my project by myself but other people needed to use what I produced.

    • I have learnt some useful skills in programming, version control and the office environment.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Not quite a party, but relaxing and comfortable. There was a social atmosphere between everyone: some people brought in cakes for birthdays etc.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • I had problems with my computer and couldn't login for the first 3 days but since then everything went smoothly. My supervisor helped me get started with everything I needed.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • I didn't need much training and I already had a good grasp of programming so little time was spent on teaching me in a 1 to 1 fashion.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • HR set up social events and groups throughout the placement to help everyone get to know each other.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Pretty good value - nearby supermarkets and such. I chose to live in a cheaper place outside the city.

    • I didn't sample it much but I hear Wetherspoons is good at night.

    • Being close to the city there were plenty of out of work activities.
