The Role
The work experience was very enjoyable as there was a good office culture as well as being a great environment to learn.
I felt valued by all the office. I carried out work for different teams and everyone was thankful for the work I did.
The team were always on hand to offer support or guidance. They were willing to take time out of their day to sit down and run through any questions I had.
I had a steady stream of work that kept me busy throughout the 4 weeks.
I was trusted to assist with measuring buildings as well as updating stats and investment summaries that the whole team use to evaluate future investments.
The skills I have developed over the past 4 weeks will be invaluable for my degree and future career.
The Company
There was a very good office culture, with a good mix of humour and work.
From day one I had my induction, was introduced to the office and ran through what I would be doing over the next 4 weeks. If I had any questions they were answered and I felt that I had a clear understanding of my role straight away.
- I was taken to a client meeting in Glasgow. - A visit to Stirling to inspect a unit - A team day out to Glasgow - The teams time in explaining any questions
National Travel
Depending on performance, the company may offer you a graduate position. You are told if you are successful in late September.
The Culture
We went out for drinks and also had a team day out, all within the four weeks I was there.
For a capital city, the price was very reasonable for socialising. I stayed in a relatives flat, however accommodation maybe quite expensive during August, due to the the fringe festival.
There are lots of bars, pubs and clubs in Edinburgh and enough variety for most people.
My internship was during the fringe, so it was great to go and see some of the shows.
