    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was an amazing experience for me. Being the first time I was working, I didn't really know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I learned so much during my time at the company and it gave me the opportunity to see what working at the company was like first hand.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was valued by my colleagues in that they always listened to what I had to say and I didn't feel that I was not part of the team. I felt welcomed by everyone I met.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The guidance and support I was given was second to none. I felt that I could ask my manager and my colleagues any questions that I had. I never felt like I was stuck and didn't know what to do. Help was always there.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The work balance was surprisingly good. I enjoyed working everyday and it was good to tick the items off the checklist at the end of each day. The feeling of accomplishment was great. I was never overwhelmed with the work and always completed my objectives set at the start of the week.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a project to work on myself, as well as some other team work. The project required a lot of personal input from myself, but I was not afraid to seek help from my manager when I needed it. I liked seeing both the teamwork and individual aspect of the job; that was very interesting for me.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This internship was a great way for me to build my skills and also to learn new skills. It was extremely useful and I am sure that the skills I have developed during my weeks at the company will for sure be used in the future, whether that is for the rest of my university studies, or in future employment.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. It was a pleasure to work there every day and the fact that everyone was so friendly made it very easy for me to get help. It wasn't a heated environment at all.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was extremely well set up I thought. I always knew what was coming up in the weeks ahead and the induction at the start was very well set up. Overall, the internship went very smoothly.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company definitely invests in its interns as they told us that we are the young talent that they want to nurture. I, along with the other interns were given training from the very start and I felt that it helped us get to know the company better and of what the company wanted from us.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If nothing extreme happens from now till September next year, I will be joining PwC after I graduate!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were a lot of memorable events planned and spent with the rest of the interns. It was a great way to get to know others and I made some really good friends. I ate lunch with interns on a daily basis as well so this was good as well.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being London, it is fairly expensive so you need to learn to keep a track of your budget. Being an accountant myself, I didn't find it any trouble, however!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife was very lively and there was always something to do and a lot of variety so indeed you will find something to suit yourself. Great fun!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were quite a few events to get involved. This allowed us to get a different perspective on the company, out of work, which was valuable. I enjoyed these events and it helped me grow my network.
