The Role
I really appreciated the insight view which I got and can say that I really liked the work. I would like to start working within the finance sector and especially at FIG.
All of my colleagues tried to involve me as much as possible in their work and explained me always how to do a specific work so that I can help everybody more. Therefore I felt valued by my colleagues.
As I said above, as all of my work was mostly valued. I also was given a lot of support and guidance by the management so that I could help everybody out in the best way.
I was really busy every day, but I think that is in the nature of the finacial institutions group where I worked. I had to work every day, but therefore I never learned more during an internship.
I was given responsibility to some extent. But anyway, the process at Morgan Stanley is that at least 2 people are checking or reading through the same work so that they can double check everything.
The valuation methods I learned will help me and improve my performance in every finance or financial statement analysis class. Apart from that, the PP skills I learned will be helpful for every presentation, if it is in university or on the job.
The Company
I really liked the people I was working together with. But I think that is also more than necessary, when you are going to work very long hours with the same people.
The internship was organised very well for the interns who stayed the whole time of the summer internship. There have been some difficulties in dealing with some people who were leaving earlier.
The company invested a lot in our development. We just had classroom training for the first week and we also had different presentations of more senior investment bankers also during the internship where they shared their experience with us.

Working from home
Basically, most of the new analysts are recruited through summer interns.
The Culture
Most of the interns who were working together all the time, did go out together and enjoyed their free time together, too.
London is one of the most expensive cities in the world and so are the rents and the costs of socialising. But therefore the city offers also a lot for everybody.
There had been some bars, but they closesd around 12. You had to travel about 30 min to find nice places later.
The workload was high, but we had different opportunities of activities throughout the internship.
