  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Given total responsibility and encouraged to actively seek new opportunities for my project.

  • Loved them all! All of the team made themselves available whenever I had queries or requests

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My mentor is the oracle. She allowed me to be independent, facilitating my development in a fantastic way through meetings and one on one support.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I managed my own work flow which allowed me to dedicate time to the projects that needed it.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My project was my own and I was allowed to take it forward in my own unique way whilst being given the right amount of guidance.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Thanks to my internship experience I have been able to secure a position in a marketing agency, something I would not have achieved without Cancer Research UK on my CV.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was not always busy which allowed time for serious work, but when it was it was a great atmosphere

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • With training, one on one meetings, and mid term reviews the placement was set up brilliantly. Also having a dedicated Intern executive meant that all queries/concerns were dealt with quickly and effectively

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Paying for expenses to London to recieve training on CVs and interviews was a brilliant investment, it helped me get my job.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Unfortunately there are currently no opportunities that I have enough experience to apply for, however I hope my internship will set me up well for returning to the organisation when I have developed in my career.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Due to being in a regional office I couldn't attend the events planned in our central offices.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living at home...definitely cheap as chips!

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Bristol has an awesome night life

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Again, opportunities would have been better if I had been based at central office.
