    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My work was all new. I enjoyed the challenge of working relatively long hours 6.30 a.m. -8 p.m. because I had very varied work throughout.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My work is now used on a daily basis so I was highly valued throughout the process. I was involved in the preparation for several client pitches. I also got on particularly well with both desks.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • HR and Management were always keen to meet with us - We had sessions with every member of the management and they were readily available if we wanted to organise further meetings. It was surprising how happy they were to help.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On most days, I was really busy having to stay a bit later than the rest of my team. However, the work was enjoyable and so I didn't mind. There were very few times in which I had too much work at one time and I don't think I've ever been bored.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I spoke to potential clients although I think that would be unique to my desk. Some of my work is now being used daily and so in that sense I was responsible for reducing their workload in the future.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I want to work in PWM so it was an amazing experience...

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere throughout

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There is a fantastic HR team which organises it perfectly maintaining contact throughout the period before the internship began.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had specific training days but the best training was on the job where everyone was happy to answer questions and show processes when necessary.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Morgan Stanley would be a fantastic place to start my career

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • With the work load, it was difficult to organise too much time for social gatherings. However, the fellow interns, and some analysts would often relax after hours on a Thursday or Friday.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live in London so I wasn't surprised by the cost.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
