The Role
I worked on a very unique desk. When there are deals, it is probably the most interesting desk to work on as an intern. However, when no deals come through, the tasks may become mundane
The further into the internship you are supposed to get more difficult tasks, and when you do, you feel valued
This is the most important part of the internship. I had an analyst that was always willing to help, and thats how I could improve on a daily basis
The equity syndiacte is a good combination of work peaks. When there are deals, the work load is very challenging, but once a deal is finished there is typically a more relaxed period
I was doing almost everything a normal analyst does
Relevant, however the equity syndicate is less of a financial desk.
The Company
contact with other interns is fun, but as a whole there is not too much interaction in the office
very good, however there remains the question of whether it is better to move around a few desks or stay put in one throughout an internship
there is a training week at the beginning of the internshiip and from there on there is a weekly enrichment class
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
anyone interested in finance has to see what a major investment banking player looks like
The Culture
there is a big intern pool and so there is a wide variety of people and thus a good social scene
the workload makes going out quite difficult in the middle of the week and obviously london is very expensive
great nightlife in central london, but nothing relevant in the office area
not really much time for out of work activities
