    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 3 placements were completed around the company. 1 placement was brilliant and was great for personal development. Another placement was average with no responsibility and dull work. Placements are chosen by the student so you just need to know where to avoid.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • This varies placement to placement. One placement I felt that I became an integral member of the team yet another I was very much the temporary guy on the sidelines.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • One placement I was supported brilliantly. Another I had less support.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In the placement where I was valued and became a part of the team I had a perfect workload however, in another placement I found that I didn't have as much work as desired.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given large amounts of responsibility in one yet very little in another.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've learnt how to handle myself in a business environment and also experienced managers using very different methods to differing levels of success. This will be useful when managing others as I will know what not to do!

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Work as usual. The working environment was generally focused with a small amount of chat. Depending on the department and those in the department.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement seemed professionally organised for the majority of the time.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Any development was dependent on the department that you were working in. If your current manager was interested in your development. Some provided lots of opportunities whereas others provided none.
