    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • My internship at PwC surpassed my expectations. It was challenging yet fun, and very insightful. I was given plenty responsibility during my 6weeks and plenty of support also.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • This was the most impressive part about my internship. Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and made me feel more than comfortable to ask any question. Nothing was ever a trouble for anyone and all members of staff would go out of their way to help. Great work environment.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Again, the support given to me during my internship was brilliant. If ever I needed help, it was never a difficulty to find some, for any level.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • At the start of my internship I was busy everyday, which was great. There was always work to complete but it was never time pressured. One week I did have to ask around for work, but this was not an issue as everyone was very helpful in finding me work. And the PwC internship challenge was there to work on in the meantime.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I was given a lot of responsibility for the work I completed and documented up which was then review by a higher member of the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The knowledge I gained will greatly assist me in my degree as It gives me first hand and real life experience in what I am studying. It will allow me to communicate in a more realistic way.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • The office environment was always good, even when it was quiet. There was a great sense of teamwork within my line of service.

    • There was always someone who was guiding me every week and this was known well in advance. Work was always prepared for me, and almost everyday, I knew what I was going to be doing.

    • The company invested a lot of time in my personal development. From the development days with my recruitment officers to the training and feedback I received from my managers.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • During my six weeks there was a good balance of work drink and social events arranged. This was with team engagements and also whole office events.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Depending on the socialising event, often a lot was paid for you. For instance, a certain amount was put behind the bar for a night out etc. This made going out affordable.

    • As the office is in the centre of Glasgow, the nightlife is good.

    • I was included in plenty outside office socialising events, such as drinks etc.
