Audit Associate Intern Review

I enjoyed it a lot and I see myself working for the company in the long term.

I felt I was able to make real contribution to the audit engagements and my work was appreciated by the colleagues. It was expressed in both informal and formal feedback and it made me feel like I am part of the company and a valued team member.

The support and guidance would come from recruitment team, which would manage programme nationally and cover organisational stuff, and team leaders on audit engagements, who managed my day-to-day work. Both of these were excellent. Recruitment team gave us always detailed and timely information about any internship matters. My team leaders kept a great balance of making sure that I know what to do but at the same time leaving me some freedom to try to figure out things myself, which made my work interesting.

The vast majority of my time I would be very busy and had a lot of work to do, which was really good. There were few more quiet days, during which I would have some spare time. However, it was not a problem at all, because we had summer intern challenge project run throughout the internship, so when having spare time you could always just do some work on that.

I was given a lot of responsibility - much more than I would expect for an intern to get. As I progressed through internship, I felt that amount of responsibility I get increases in line with my learning, which made my work and assignments exciting.

I study Accounting and Finance, so experience I gained in audit is directly relevant to my studies and type of career I want to pursue. I gained technical knowledge, as well as, had a great opportunity to see in practice what kind of work I would be doing at PwC as a graduate in audit.

Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. The PwC corporate culture is very social and I could feel that all people in the office get along with each other really well. It created an atmosphere of everyone being friends with each other, which I really enjoyed.

Organisation and flow of information were great. When I started an internship, I could see plan of my engagements and clients for the whole duration of internship. PwC were also very flexible and welcome to accommodate any wishes or needs we may have.

We had week long induction for 6 weeks internship. In addition to that, we had Development Day in the middle and Final Day at the end of internship. It seems to me to be a huge amount of investment for such a short period of time. I was very satisfied with both amount and quality of training I was given.

Great. Unless you do something really bad, you get offered a job.

Quite good. We went out together for lunches when we were working in the office and we kept in touch throughout the whole internship. We did not go out or party together during the weekend though.

I stayed in my Uni flat, so there was no additional cost for me. In general, Edinburgh is not too pricy in general and costs of accommodation are reasonable.

Edinburgh is quite good in terms of night life, so definitely everyone can find something for himself.

Yes. There were regular sports events that interns could join. There was also BBQ party organised for PwC Assurance Social Group and after-work drinks on Friday during our internship to which we were invited.
