The Role
Loved almost all parts of my placement and come 11 months I didnt want to leave.
I felt very valued by all colleagues. We were all viewed as equals no matter of what position/role you were in.
I had regular monthly catch ups with my Line manager where by we reviewed by development plan and workload. He was very supportive and we were very close so I felt able to approach him with any queries wherever necesarry.
I was often too busy at work due to working cross functionally over so many different brands however as soon as i was nearing my work capacity I would discuss this with my manager and he would always offer additional support where needed.
I was given a good amount of resonabilility during my placement at Janssen. I was often given a brief and budget and left to my own devices.
I have considerably developed multiple skills since my time at Janssen, which I will take back to University with me and continue to develop further into my career. My communication skills, organisation and prioritistion have vastly developed in particular.
The Company
There always seemed to be a large amount of people sitting within the marketing department which meant there were always people to chat to.
My placement was organised very well, from beginning to end, however there are still improvements to be had, for example all students were offered the opportuinity to partake in presetattion skills, excel training and cv workshps which provided very useful however mostly were organised towards the end of the year and I could have done with them at the beginning.
My manager was always encouraging me to look out for future training opportunities and anything that I felt would be beneficial he organised for me!

I am attending an assessment day in the coming months for a graduate position with Marketing at Janssen. I am reasonably confident that i will have a good opportunity to come back to the company as a graduate.
The Culture
The student group within Janssen were very close. We would often go for dinner/drinks/nights out together and this ensured we stayed closr throughout the entire year. However we were not in the best area. High Wycombe leaves alot to be desired! London however is only a 25 train journey so we would often take day trips or go there for nights out.
The cost of living was slightly higher than my hometown however being closer to London, I expect this! The salary for this placement was a little higher than others I had seen so this compensated for the slightly high costs.
The nightlight in High Wycombe was not ideal. There were a few cheap pubs but that was about it. Because of this we often ventured further afield for nights out eg. Reading, Marlow, Beaconsfield, London.
There were several sports clubs in the surrounding areas which we were given the opportunity to join if we wanted, however instead I visited the free onsite gym.
