    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was ok. I had to cut back on my other job in order to do it. I do not feel that this cut in hours was worth it for this internship.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They were all nice people, but I feel instead of an intern they should have just employed a junior for their department.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everything was very guided. There was not much room for initiative really. I would have liked more opportunity.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Quite bored. I had a few tasks but had a lot of time to do them in.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Everything was very managed and everything had to be signed off. The manager knew what she wanted before I got there, there was no room for any input. It was just unpaid work.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I had already finished my degree. I dont feel I developed many skills. It was an extra line on my CV which may have helped me get a further internship which was paid and I got much more out of.

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was nice but nobody socialised after work or anything.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Again, ok but perhaps more thought into what the intern gets out of it not just what the organisation gets out of it.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Nothing that I can think of.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I applied for the graduate scheme whilst here and did not get past the first round and was told not to ask for feedback as to why.

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone was nice but no socialising.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Ok but as it was unpaid things were tight.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I have no idea, I never stayed that late.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Nothing that I can recall.

    1/5
