    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement overall was very enjoyable. The nature of the job meant that no day was the same which made it an exciting prospect coming to work in the morning!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel I have been valued as an integral part of the team and have been given the opportunity, on many occasions, to make valuable contributions.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The responsive nature of the role meant that the workload fluctuated, but there were rarely any occasions where I didn't have much to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Having mentioned earlier, I felt that I was an integral part of the team from the start and this reflected in the work that was delegated to me. The team were there to support me if needed, but independent working and taking responsibility was greatly encouraged.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I would highly recommend anyone who has the opportunity to undergo a placement to do one. It hugely helps with personal development; especially with confidence and working in a professional environment. The discipline of working long days will definitely be transferrable when I get back to complete my degree.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere could not have been more welcoming with the open office arrangement. It is quite a social organisation also, with different sporting events being held in the evenings.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really well structured, with fortnightly 1-2-1 meetings with my manager to discuss anything. Lots of personal development opportunities are held which everyone is encouraged to attend.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company is dynamic and growth has been evident, even in my short time here. I would definitely consider applying for a role that I find appealing within the organisation.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Cambridge is a big student city, with 2 universities here but we didn't often get a chance to go out on student nights so I can only rate the weekend nightlife, which was fairly average.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • As mentioned earlier, there were several sports activities organised throughout the year. As a result of partaking in those activities, I have joined a local cricket team.
