The Role
I enjoyed my time at Tech Data far more than I ever thought I would
The whole time I was there everybody treated me like any other member of the company and gave me real responsibility
Right from the start I was given all the help I needed to get up to speed with the systems I would be using. Throughout the year I also had fairly regular catch ups with my managers regarding my progress
It varied depending on how busy the business was. Sometimes I often had to work late just to complete my basic tasks but other times I would not have enough work to even fill out the day
Right from the start I was doing a real job and had real responsibility given to me. As time went on I was given more and more as well
I have already used the skills and experiences back in my final year at university and they have even assisted me in getting on a graduate scheme starting in September
The Company
The atsmosphere in the office was great, we had plenty of fun on a daily basis. Obviously when we had to work hard we did but there was plenty of opportunity to have a laugh throughout the day as well
The organisation of the process was excellent from start to finish
My colleagues and managers invested plenty of time into making sure that I fully understood the role I was doing and as I picked up more tasks continued to train me throughout the year.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Would have considered going back but have already secured a graduate role elsewhere
The Culture
We frequently organised work nights out amongst the placement students and apprentices. In addition the social committee and charity committee arranged frequent events to get involved with
York is not one of the cheaper areas of the country to live in
Fairly average really
The charity and social committee created many events for us to get involved in outside of work
