The Role
The work was challenging and was doing something different everyday.
The staff here are extremely friendly and welcoming. The office has an informal feel to it that allows you to work hard but also have a laugh with the people around you.
Cannot fault my team Manager or my mentor, both were providing consisent feedback with regular 1:2:1 meetings, but also showing recognition when it is due.
As I was in a management team, day to day work was extremely busy during mid project but this was suitable for me as I wanted to be challenged. However, support was readibly available from my mentor, Manager and other co-workers.
The first month of my placement was intial training, understanding what would be expected of you. As my placement moved forward, I was given much responsibility for which you ultimatly decide how you much you get. However, the more you responsibility you take on, the better!
HP has a huge catalogue of training courses for you to do via HP University. From Management techniques to technical aspects of HP products. Throughout my placement, I was encouraged by my manager to take time to use these resources.
The Company
Being at a place of work, in a professional, office setting, you must act professionaly. However, that does not mean that no one is up for a laugh!
I had a very good experience, made by excellent management, hard working co-workers where support and guidance is a high priority.
They invested heavily on providing courses for you, encouraging you to use time at work for personal development and even paying for courses!
