The Role
I am still on placement at the time of writing this. To be honest, it's the first job that I have ever been in, I really enjoy working on the projects, with the people and the general atmosphere in the company, which has made things so much easier!
My dad, who also happens to work for the same company, got very sick and had to have surgery. I had only been working there for a month when he went in to hospital. The whole team was constantly asking how I was, and sharing stories and giving advice through the entire thing. He pulled through, and the members of the office have still been amazing!
I have been assigned a total of 2 mentors so far, and have a boss, and then a placement supervisor/manager. They have all been very good with/to me, and explain things well, as well as offer advice and support
I am normally quite busy, but on occasion there can be a lull or increase in work, but it's become normal.
I have been given a fair bit, I have been working in the testing section of 2 different teams for 3 and 4 months respectively
I've been doing a lot of learning over the past few months, and have gained a load of skills that will definitely help me in my final year, as well as in my future jobs. This includes some programming languages, to include - Python - C++ - C
The Company
It's quite nice, quite quiet at times, but everyone is very friendly
Can be very disorganised at times, usually because of deadlines
You learn a lot of stuff by yourself, but you have people there to ask questions and give you overviews whenever you want
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Healthcare from home
I would love to work here again, if they'll have me!
The Culture
Everyone is very friendly and always there to give advice, but aren't afraid to ask us for help if we know something they don't!
about £350 a month
Not really a big party person, so I don't know. I've heard it's good.
There are a fair few things, though, it's mostly fundraising!
