    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I am still on placement at the time of writing this. To be honest, it's the first job that I have ever been in, I really enjoy working on the projects, with the people and the general atmosphere in the company, which has made things so much easier!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My dad, who also happens to work for the same company, got very sick and had to have surgery. I had only been working there for a month when he went in to hospital. The whole team was constantly asking how I was, and sharing stories and giving advice through the entire thing. He pulled through, and the members of the office have still been amazing!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have been assigned a total of 2 mentors so far, and have a boss, and then a placement supervisor/manager. They have all been very good with/to me, and explain things well, as well as offer advice and support

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I am normally quite busy, but on occasion there can be a lull or increase in work, but it's become normal.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given a fair bit, I have been working in the testing section of 2 different teams for 3 and 4 months respectively

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've been doing a lot of learning over the past few months, and have gained a load of skills that will definitely help me in my final year, as well as in my future jobs. This includes some programming languages, to include - Python - C++ - C

    5/5

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Can be very disorganised at times, usually because of deadlines

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
