The Role
While the internship was quite a lot of work, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would not have accepted the offer if I had not really enjoyed my time there.
One of the best things about the internship was the team that I was working with and right from the beginning I felt extremely comfortable in asking them for advice or suggestions.
Before every task I was given a thorough briefing of what was expected of me and my supervisors were very welcoming of any questions that I may have, regardless of how "stupid" I thought these questions may be.
I was kept extremely busy during the internship and there was always more work to be done. While this was slightly overwhelming at the start as long as you keep it under management, it is rewarding to feel constantly valued.
Right from the start I was given a lot of responsibility working on specific projects, which again was slightly overwhelming at the start but I was glad to feel that I was being trusted by the rest of the team.
The training before the internship and the actual practical experience that I received over the 10 weeks will be invaluable going into a full-time position and these skills are not just limited to the finance sector.
The Company
While the office environment is serious when there is work to be done, the other members of my team were very friendly which made the atmosphere not feel overly formal.
Every aspect of the internship was very well organised, right from the application process and interviews through to logistics and events during the 10 weeks.
The training week before the internship started gave exceptional personal training and development opportunities. I felt very aware that the company was treating us like potential full-time employees rather than simply interns for a set period of time.

If you demonstrate that you are keen for a full-time offer and put in the necessary effort then there are definitely good future employment prospects.
The Culture
There were regular social gatherings among the group of interns, from going out if there was no work on or simply meeting up for lunch or dinner to have a bit of a break.
London is one of the more expensive places to live but at the same time it is one of the most enjoyable. The salary that I was paid over the internship was definitely enough to cover the cost of living and socialising over this period.
One of the best aspects about living in London is the range of things to do in the evenings. The nightlife consists of plenty of good bars and clubs in all the different areas of the city.
There were a number of societies in operation, for example an office football team, that organised plenty of activities outside of work.
