    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • For the majority of the time the tasks set for me were new and interesting. They required a bit of research or independent thinking.

  • The audit teams I worked on couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, giving lots of useful advice and insght

  • I felt like I could ask my managers anything. There were very approachable and amicable.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • When on a client site I was always very busy but during the couple days I spend in the office I was rather free. Although this did allow me to catch up on outstanding work I had from other audit clients.

  • I felt like I was given a lot of responsibility considering I had just started.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The analytical and communication skills I learnt are invaluable

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was an open plan office so there was plenty of interactions.

  • The internship was very well run. My only one criticism would be that there didn't seem to be a lot of external activities planned for the interns

  • The staff devoted plenty of time to training me, especially for new tasks or technology.

  • They offered me a graduate job and I accepted!

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All the interns met up at least once a week for a social event.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Leeds was very cheap in comparison to other big cities and is certainly a lot cheaper than London. It is good value for money

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • it was very good. Plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants to choose from in Leeds.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were different sports societies you could join as well as opportunities to do community service work every few weeks.
