    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • First weeks-a month were very tough as there was alot to take in and learn but I assume this applies to most jobs. Was provided with some incredible training and social experiences opportunities from the start.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Incredibly warm welcome from the first day.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • As I was working in 3 different areas I technically had 3 seperate managers, so there was an abundance of guidance if anything.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • If I wasn't busy enough there was always an option to ask for work either personally or through a fortnighly meeting. Similarly if I was struggling with work and deadlines managers were very understanding.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Obviously everything is checked by managers or peers before submission however I was given alot of freedom and responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the experiences and knowledge I have received will help me throughout life no matter what line of work I choose to work in.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Key point here is that managers and senior staff are all personable and arent afraid to embarras themselves or let their hair down.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • At times there was little work available however that is due to seasonality and deadlines rather than GT as a company.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As mentioned earlier the opportunites for training and personal development are unparralelled.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • From what I have heard retention is incredibly high with placement students, however I am not yet at the end of my contract so I can't confirm.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • If you can afford the city lifestyle there is always an event or occasion to celebrate.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home and commuted in for the year so bar the train expenses it was very economic.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Excellent.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Currently involved in two activites helping high schoolers with maths and helping at career fairs, and there are plenty more options available.

    5/5
