  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A perfectly balanced programme, combining work experience, training, corporate responsibility and social aspects.

  • felt very valued by all.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was sitting opposite me and so whenever I had a question I would be able to ask him for help. Also my buddy was there for me from 3 weeks before i started providing guidance and getting me involved in the social side of GT.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • constantly given work to do, but not too much that it was stretching.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Alot of learning curves were experienced as I was given work to do on big proposals as well as final reports. Made me feel valued and the proposal was a big piece of work for GT worth £300, 000!

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • All aspects of the internship will be relevant for the rest of my working life i.e. business develoment skills, business impact skills, team working, presentations, working to deadlines, self study for when i have to undertake the ACA etc. As for my degree my dissertation is based on the risks associated with cloud computing which is directly related to the work i was doing at GT.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The team was so friendly always joking about and having a laugh. As well as actually getting on with serious work. Social side such as GT cricket matches and national football tournament meant there was always something to talk about.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As i said earlier a perfect mixture between work, fun and play also including volunteering workd.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested as much as they could in the short period of time, and it gives an insight into what they will invest in the future as we got to go down to high wycomb to see there training facilities.

  • I am starting a grad job with them next september.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • In london offices it was more prevalent as everyone is closer together however there were always people going for drinks after work on fridays and you spend your inductions, training and CR days with your fellow interns.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in my uni house so it was perfect.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good, I was based in leeds which has very good nightlife.

  • As i said, the CR day, GT cricket match and football tournament as well as running clubs etc.
