    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team I was in were well bonded, helpful and keen to hear my thoughts from day 1 which made me feel an important part of the team by the end of placement.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Clear objectives from the start, and this helped with getting support as I knew what I needed to do to achieve the objectives. Would have been good to have more meetings with manager but he was always very busy.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My objectives were varied meaning I could move focus each day depending on what needed done so there were few days where I had little to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was able to take charge of delivering two objectives myself which meant I had full responsibility which I loved.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A much broader understanding of project management and how it fits into engineering which was really useful. Already been able to use the knowledge in part of my university project this semester.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Within the team it was good, but across the building it did seem a bit stale at times. Quite a few grumpy faces!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • No IT access for the first week which was very poor and left me with little to do. Once that was sorted everything went very well.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Chance to observe areas that interested me more and also get out on site and find out more about the business. Felt like the company was keen to get me involved throughout.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to come back on a graduate programme without a doubt!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes. Interns met up each week and it was good to hear about what everyone else was up to as well as being able to chill out at weekends with them.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Preston is very cheap. An okay amount of places to go socialising. If you are interested in the country then there is the Lake District not far north.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Cheap and cheerful would be the best way to describe it!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Some organised activities but the majority were organised by interns unofficially.

    3/5
