    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I did enjoy the job and the role I had and felt that it has helped me develop my skills. I was unsure whether HR was what I wanted to go into when I was older and since having my placement in this area, I have now realise it isnt as I have a greater interest in Marketing and Sales

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given a lot of responsiblity in this role, and was continually asked for my ideas and input into projects.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Very supportive, if I had any problems was able to speak to my Manager about them.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Depended from day to day- some days I was really busy but there were others when I wasn't. In some respect, I would of liked it to have busier.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Felt I had a good degree of responsiblity; Manager left it to me to be responible for projects and task.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Helped me to manage workloads, can now relate what I have learnt and will learn next year to a working environment. Given me the opportunity to realise that HR is not an area I would like to work within when I'm older.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really nice atmosphere, very relaxed, everyone was really friendly and helpful.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised- had the job by the December in my Second Year so didnt have that worry during Jnauary exams. Had an open day which was useful and allowed us to meet the other students that would be working here.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Had the opportunity to attend training courses- was given full training for the role in the two week hand over period.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not that appealing- a number of placement students have come back over the years but not a great amount

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • A good social life within the students- there is 34 in total at Janssen, so we would go out at least once a week together- some of us have arranged holidays together, also done a number of other activites as a group.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cost of living wasn't too bad- lived close by with 3 other students so petrol wasnt that expensive and rent was ok. in terms of going out, High Wycombe doesnt have a lot of places to go so would have to travel else where, which could work out expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not good!!! Only one club in High Wycombe and some bars- we would travel further afield to go out but because there is soo many of us, taxi fare is cheaper.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We have a football teams, a sport and social club where we go on theatre trips etc

    4/5
