The Role
I did enjoy the job and the role I had and felt that it has helped me develop my skills. I was unsure whether HR was what I wanted to go into when I was older and since having my placement in this area, I have now realise it isnt as I have a greater interest in Marketing and Sales
I was given a lot of responsiblity in this role, and was continually asked for my ideas and input into projects.
Very supportive, if I had any problems was able to speak to my Manager about them.
Depended from day to day- some days I was really busy but there were others when I wasn't. In some respect, I would of liked it to have busier.
Felt I had a good degree of responsiblity; Manager left it to me to be responible for projects and task.
Helped me to manage workloads, can now relate what I have learnt and will learn next year to a working environment. Given me the opportunity to realise that HR is not an area I would like to work within when I'm older.
The Company
Really nice atmosphere, very relaxed, everyone was really friendly and helpful.
Very organised- had the job by the December in my Second Year so didnt have that worry during Jnauary exams. Had an open day which was useful and allowed us to meet the other students that would be working here.
Had the opportunity to attend training courses- was given full training for the role in the two week hand over period.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Not that appealing- a number of placement students have come back over the years but not a great amount
The Culture
A good social life within the students- there is 34 in total at Janssen, so we would go out at least once a week together- some of us have arranged holidays together, also done a number of other activites as a group.
Cost of living wasn't too bad- lived close by with 3 other students so petrol wasnt that expensive and rent was ok. in terms of going out, High Wycombe doesnt have a lot of places to go so would have to travel else where, which could work out expensive.
Not good!!! Only one club in High Wycombe and some bars- we would travel further afield to go out but because there is soo many of us, taxi fare is cheaper.
We have a football teams, a sport and social club where we go on theatre trips etc
