    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found the work there, from my individual research project to the main company project I was heavily involved with, very interesting and the activities where of a great standard. The overall company ethic was fantastic and enjoyed out of work activities and found them very entertaining on a personal and professional level.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was respected by every individual and was made to feel at home from the outset and throughout. Not only was I treated as a regular employee I found myself very engaged and involved with staff from all departments.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was available throughout the infrastructure and found technical help was offered and at hand from my personal supervisor, other supervisors and any staff was available to help with anything they could.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The workload that was expected of myself was very realistic and extra work that was taken on was available in a manner that was comfortable for myself and the staff around me, I found myself enjoying the work so much that I took extra upon myself which was greatly appreciated.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was giving the responsibility of a research project and it was up to myself how I went about it, with the support from my supervisor through progress discussions and such. My main project work I was given a reasonable responsibility to perform the duties which within a few weeks I became a vital part of the project and was holding as much responsibility in the progress as the other permanent staff involved in it.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills developed will be invaluable to my studies and future work. A good exposure to various types of software and technical analysis with sound training and explanation given. A large amount of time spent dealing with clients via telephone/meetings etc has been a very good learning experience and personal development exercise.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very professional environment with a relaxed atmosphere.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Was very well organised, training and general procedures took place in the first week, a research project and some practice with software was given. Followed by other tasks for project to get a feel of capabilities and then more heavily involved project work once established.
