The Role
I had a great time on my placement, it has taught me many lessons and has set me up well for further university education and future employment after that.
I felt trusted as an engineer and as an individual to do the tasks on time and to an acceptable standard, which I really appreciated and valued.
My supervisors, whether directors or senior engineers, gave me a lot of support and useful tips. They were always available if I needed guidance.
I was usually a good level of busy, although it depended on how many jobs were being worked on at once. If it was a busy week then the one-on-one time with the other engineers was reduced a bit, but that was out of everyone's control so only a minor point.
I was given a lot of responsibility with my own tasks as part of a job or project.
I learned a lot in terms of software use and the technical aspects of being an engineer, as well as improving my personal skills such as communication within a team.
The Company
The office had a very welcoming atmosphere, and I felt as if I could talk to anyone if I needed help or if we were just having a quick chat.

The Culture
The cost of living was very reasonable, as was the cost of socialising.
The nightlife was good but generally didn't go out much.
