About You
It was a pleasant experience, the office was very nice and the people were lovely.
As an intern there for only two weeks there was only so much I could do, but I was treated like their equal which was good.
Quite a bit, I was assigned a buddy who I essentially shadowed for the duration of the scheme and she was very useful
I developed interpersonal skills which are always useful but nothing specific to my degree as I am not studying a subject related to finance
The Company
Quite well, there was not much work for me to do but it gave me a good insight into what they do and why
It was nice, people seemed to be enjoying their work and there were no complaints from the people I interacted with. Not much office banter though.
There was no training perse because it was a short programme but we were very well looked after.
I got a really good understanding of what their employees do on a day to day basis so this was definitely one of the strengths of the scheme.
I could see exactly how I would fit in here which was great.
Very valuable, helped me see what routes there are into the firm and what qualifications etc are involved.
Everything Else
Lunch allowance given and ~£320 a week
Not really as I was based at a client site the whole time but my buddy ensured I spoke to senior managers and partners so that was very useful.
Very productive.
Yes, the employees told me about various volunteering opportunities and so on that they have been offered.
Well worth doing to see what Accounting is all about, I knew very little when I started and came out with lots of new knowledge.
