The Role
I had a really positive experience throughout my internship. My colleagues were helpful and supportive, there was always a great atmosphere and I was given my own work to do most of the time that I was accountable for.
I was trusted to complete part of the audit work like a graduate trainee and was given good feedback when I completed tasks.
I didn't have much contact with my manager during the internship, but all of my colleagues who were leading each audit I was part of were exremely supportive and keen to help me learn.
There were some times where I could've done with having more work to do; even though I did ask for extra work this wasn't always possible. However, I was rarely given too much to do.
I was given the same level of work as a graduate trainee for the most part.
I think I've gained a lot of knowledge and skills about business and accounting that will be extremely useful for the future, though not directly relevant to my degree.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere.
There wasn't really much organisation of what work I would be assigned to in advance, more of an ad hoc basis which worked some of time as it meant it was more flexible but some more organisation would have been good.
Everyone around me took time to thoroughly explain work to me.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
After receiving good feedback from my colleagues and manager I am optimistic about my partner interview.
The Culture
There were lots of events/casual drinks organised by both KPMG as well as the team in the office.
As is expected in Central London.
Lots of pubs, clubs, bars etc.
My colleagues regularly invited me to other events outside of work.
