    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and feel that I have experienced a lot about the company and have been made to feel very welcome.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone who I worked with was very welcoming and good to work with, they answered any questions that I had and were very quick to help me with general queries as well as ones related to the technical work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was very impressed with the support and guidance I received. I was always briefed on what work I had to complete and how to do this and any necessary deadlines and I always felt there were people available who could provide further support or aid my understanding in anything that I did not fully understand.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • For the majority of the time I felt that I had the right balance and was given work to do but did not feel that it was too much. However, there were a few days where I did not have a lot of work to do however this was due to the quiet nature of the general period and whenever I did ask for work, every effort was made to give me some or suggestions were made as to who to ask for relevant work.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of client work to do and felt these were important tasks to do so felt I was given a lot of responsibility and had client interaction both on a remote and face-to-face basis so again felt that I was a valued member of the team and completing important tasks.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have greatly improved many of my skills. I have developed faster IT skills to work more efficiently and have improved my ability to work independently whilst having the confidence to ask questions to aid my understanding. I feel I have gained a lot of knowledge relating to Audit and how the process works which has greatly added to my insight of the job.

  • It was a pleasant atmosphere to work in and everyone was very friendly in dealing with enquiries.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Everything was worked out smoothly, there were a couple of times when I was not booked to any clients although this was quickly resolved when I asked.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel I was well invested in both in terms of the training at Latimer and the development day but also adding in the time that various members of my team took to work with me and help coach me.

  • There are a number of opportunities available within the firm and a wide range of clients to work on and many experiences to have. It is a great working environment and one which is very rewarding.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We got on very well and often met up at lunch whenever we had the opportunity and there is a messaging service internally to PwC which also gave us a chance to chat informally and see how the other interns were finding their placement.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The prices are very good and with many student places available, there is a wide variety too.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Whilst not getting a chance during the internship to experience this, having gone to university in the area I have had a chance to see it and know that it is very good.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A few events were offered to me and I attended all of these and these were very fun and well worth going to.
