The Role
This is the third internship I've had while at university, and the best experience so far! If you're willing to get stuck in and pro-active in your own development, there's a lot available here.
People were often very busy, but despite that if I needed their help, they would make time for me and give me their full attention. Everyone was always really friendly, and always thankful for my work contributions.
As said above, my manager/supervisor(s) made time to explain things to me or give me feedback on my work when I asked, but at the same time they gave me time to get on with work and try things out for myself.
It was great because as well as working on a project with Detica employees, interns also get a stretch project - a project with other interns. This meant that it was difficult to not have anything to do and I could keep busy most of the time (always a manageable amount), though as with any internship there are busy and quieter periods.
As a business analyst, I was given a whole section of the project to collect requirements and present the task to developers, and answer people's questions about it. And the stretch project is entirely run by us interns (3 of us in our team).
It's a great environment to learn from other people - I had a lot of exposure to everyone in the team and people outside of the team. Everyone willing to sit down and explain things to you if you want to learn, and training courses available. Learned a lot about working in real life.
The Company
Everyone super friendly, but not too chatty or gossipy - a pretty good working environment. Some areas of the office even played music, and we got free fruit and kit kats :).
Started off in a testing role, but was switched to a business analyst role - minor disorganisation, but on the whole very good while I was here. Leading up to the internship was a little less organised (didn't know when my second interview was until 2 days before), but on the whole good.
Detica seems very very invested in personal training and development. Best I've come across in companies. There was even an event (intended for graduates, but summer interns were able to attend too) that was similar to a careers fair but about all the different areas of the company, so that we can choose more about where to go in the future etc. We also got a (very relaxed and informal!) mid and final placement review, to get good feedback and improve our opportunities for the rest of the internship.

I really like the focus of personal career development. Lots of opportunities available for that, and a massive focus on moving around different areas of the company - perfect to not get bored and be able to try everything out!
The Culture
Socials arranged by the company, ranging from intern socials, to team drinks and meal etc. Quite a few other interns in my location, so between us we met up at lunches and after work.
My internship was in London, so obviously not going to be cheap, but good location meant didn't need to travel to things very much.
Again, location was in London, so obviously lots available. Very central location, very close to the river, so lots of choice!
Some societies and groups in the office, ranging by location. e.g. rock climbing/bouldering club in London, but basketball etc in Guildford.
