  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was fortunate to work in what can probably be the nicest team in the division

  • The people were extremely friendly and helpful and were willing to assist me whenever I need help

  • They were really considerate and were constantly asking for my projects, presentations etc

  • I was given work whenever I did not have anything to do and my team did not mind me refusing additional work when I had an urgent deadline

  • I was given decent responsibility but in general I would have an analyst checking my work every now and then

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • While skills such as attention to details are applicable, sector specific knowledge is not related to my degree at all and the theories on finance I learned at school are different from ones used in the workplace

  • The people were generally friendly and the team was relatively social

  • While the work on the desk was set up well, there were some admin issues such as payroll that were not explained clearly

  • We had weekly trainings and talks

  • The organisation seemed to be hiring decent number of people every year

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • As mentioned, I was placed in a really nice and friendly team so we had decent social events

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As expected from Canary Wharf, drinks etc are not really cheap

  • The only nightlife in the area is when people have to deadline to meet the next day
