The Role
First few months were difficult, but once I'd settled into the role I really began to enjoy the placement
I get on really well with my team, who welcomed me very warmly and immediately made me feel like a valued member.
Very manager dependent, one of my managers was very laid back when it came to support, another was very enthusiastic about it
First few days were boring due to lack of work, but learning curve was very steep, so soon felt like there was too much on. Got easier as the placement wen on.
I looked after all UK stock for 3 brands, the role I was given is an actual business role, not something made up for students.
Given me great experience for life and has also helped me with things like networking and presentation skills, as well as project management and stakeholder management.
The Company
Some days were fun, other days the work really piled up and there wasn't really much time to have a bit of a laugh and a joke.
Some incosistency across the placement, and some ambiguity around the aim, but this was the first year the placement was being run, so teathing problems are to be expected.
A lot of development was encouraged, and some line managers actively help you with you development. There are a lot of opportunities to push yourself and further your skills and attributes. There is also a lot of self driven development oportunities if you so desire.

The Culture
The YII students were a great bunch of people, and we all gelled really well, having lunch together each day, going on nights out, away day activities. We will all definitely be keeping in touch after we've left.
I lived at home, so that was expensive, parking in nottingham is extortionate, but there are lots of cheap pubs and clubs in the centre.
Didn't really experience the nightlife myslef as I didn't live in the area, but other YII students really rate it
Boots are always encouring us to do extra activities to raise money for charity. These included an ironman event, fun days, CIN activities including manning the phones for CIN night, lots of fund raising activities for Macmillan.
