The Role
It varied depending on the people I was working with and client I was working on. Some were a lot more fun and interesting than others.
Again varied - one manager personally thanked me for all the work I completed but on another client I felt like I was just in the way.
For the most part, this was very good. Most supervisors made it very clear what I had to do and if I didn't understand, it was easy to find someone to ask for help.
I was mostly given a constant stream of work but there were a few days where I didn't have very much to do and couple where I had to work long hours and take work home with me.
I spoke directly to clients on several occasions and was sometimes in charge of my own sections.
Working with such a variety of people definitely helped me to improve my team work and interaction skills and I also learned a lot of useful Excel skills.
The Company
Very sociable environment, and the atmosphere was very laid back and pretty fun.
Room for improvement - many of the teams I worked with had no idea whether I was a graduate who had been there for a year or a vacation student which led to some confusion. Also, we were told that we would have partner interviews in the final week, however, none of the interns had been told if they even had one or when it would be by the final day.
People took time out to explain different areas of Audit to me, however there was no official personal training available as far as I was aware.

Company Parties/Events
Haven't found out yet whether or not I got the job but would be very keen to work here. Great environment, the people are a lot of fun and the work is varied and interesting. Career development within in the firm seems to be transparent and fairly fast moving.
The Culture
In terms of fellow placement students this wasn't great. Apart from a two day residential course at the beginning of the placement, there was nothing else organised for us. We all kept in touch anyway and tried to organise our own things but it would have been better if there had been at least a final leaving dinner organised by the company or something similar. However, I attended two department events with colleagues (none of the interns were in my department) which were a lot of fun.
London!
London nightlife.
There were lots if you were a full time employee but none for the interns.
