    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I did not enjoy my internship.

    1/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like a spare part a lot of the time, did not feel like I was needed or really wanted! Felt like people tried to fob me off with work a lot of the time. I was also in teams for only a week or two at a time so this made things very difficult.

    1/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I received no feedback until the exit meeting. I felt this was incredibly disorganised and showed a lack of interest in my development/work.

    1/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Often had very little to do.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Felt that I was only ever given the most simple and mundane of tasks.

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I do not feel I learned anything to help with my degree. All I learned was how to seem positive in the face of incredibly dull/no work!

    1/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was not good.

    1/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I did not even receive any training. When i arrived, I was supposed to be given a buddy - I was given a senior manager who was away for the whole time, and who I never met. Shambles!

    1/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I wasn't trained at all, and no interest was placed in my development.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would not choose to work for KPMG again, if I had other options.

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Pretty bad social scene. We were spread out across Manchester on audits, and no social events were put on for us to even meet.

    1/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite cheap, this was a perk of doing the internship in Manchester.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife in Mandchester is great!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We had one away day.
