The Role
I did not enjoy my internship.
I felt like a spare part a lot of the time, did not feel like I was needed or really wanted! Felt like people tried to fob me off with work a lot of the time. I was also in teams for only a week or two at a time so this made things very difficult.
I received no feedback until the exit meeting. I felt this was incredibly disorganised and showed a lack of interest in my development/work.
Often had very little to do.
Felt that I was only ever given the most simple and mundane of tasks.
I do not feel I learned anything to help with my degree. All I learned was how to seem positive in the face of incredibly dull/no work!
The Company
The atmosphere was not good.
I did not even receive any training. When i arrived, I was supposed to be given a buddy - I was given a senior manager who was away for the whole time, and who I never met. Shambles!
I wasn't trained at all, and no interest was placed in my development.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
I would not choose to work for KPMG again, if I had other options.
The Culture
Pretty bad social scene. We were spread out across Manchester on audits, and no social events were put on for us to even meet.
Quite cheap, this was a perk of doing the internship in Manchester.
Nightlife in Mandchester is great!
We had one away day.
