    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed the internship, we were thrown into real work immediately and it was a brilliant insight into this line of work.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was immediately involved in real work, which increases how valued you would feel in any internship. Everyone always seemed very interested in what we were doing, and feedback was also prompt and really productive.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • GT does a 'buddy' system, where an associate would be sat near us at all times and available to answer any of our stupid questions, which meant we were always guided and confident in what we were doing.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The days would fly by as our workload was managable, but there was always a reasonable long project (a few hours) to get on with.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt like we were given a lot of responsibility as we were the first port of call at the beginning of the process that would end at partner level.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt would help incredibly with the finance modules I am doing at university, and we have really been trained for a graduate role to do real work, so the skills will stay with us forever.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The area I was in was always very relaxed and everyone was always very chatty.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From what I've been told the internship has developed hugely in recent years, from trying to figure out on the day what to do with the interns five years ago, to a seamless set up now as we were always busy and always in the know, with different stuff always occuring!

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot, with a lot of man hours spent training us, constant support throughout, and access to all programmes available.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The firm very much use this as an extended interview for the graduate recruitment team, and those who were bright and took about the internship professionally were all considered for roles.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • As there were a lot of us, the social scene was really good with the other interns, with someone constantly organising something, including lunches and nights out. Within our team, the social scene was even better, and they were quite the party animals within the tax department. Within two days we were taken to Lords, we had a day out in Brighton, and many other events.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As expected in London, the cost is the one downside, but you pay for what you get. A pint will be over £4 and living expensive, but you get to live in the busy capital?

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife was really good, with lots of really nice clubs I'd never of found without the help of the graduate recruitment team! There is always somewhere busy no matter what the day, and always somewhere new.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were several sporting events including football and netball for the girls, and many other activities such as the trip to Lords and days and nights out

    4/5
