    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Very nice environment in which to work, made even better by the company and support of the people in my team.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • Everything was always done as a team within our department which gave it a friendly atmosphere and a real sense of immediate integration into the group.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Being in close proximity to my supervisor meant that I could get help and support whenever it was needed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Personally I found the working environment quite relaxed in the sense that providing you were keeping on top of your work there was always time to learn new things and develop and test your own ideas at a comfortable pace.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • Definitely more than I would have expected as I was given tasks which, upon completion, would be of actual use to the group in the future.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The help and training which was given to me was really excellent and I think it will definitely prove useful in the fututre.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Fairly lively atmosphere with everyone having an enjoyable time but not so much that it was no longer possible to get on with the work.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • Everything ran extremely smoothly and my internship was structured in a reasonable and logical manner.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Everyone in my group was extremely friendly and willing to help whenever I was unsure of something thus making the placement a very enjoyable experience.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    • From my experience with the company as an intern so far, I believe it would be a reasonably good company to work for.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Lots of friendly people and as a result a nice atmosphere to be in.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • With offices being located in central London the general cost of everything is quite high.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

    • Not sure, early starts combined with a fairly lengthy commute meant that staying up till the early hours of the morning wasn't much of an appealing prospect during my placement.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • I suppose the advantage of working in the centre of London is that pretty much anything you could want is just a few tube stops away.
