    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed this internship a lot. It was the best place I have ever worked in. I was given to work on a project and then I had to make a presentation and present it in front of the senior managers. In conclusion, I was very happy to do this intenship.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very appreciated and valued by my all of my colleagues from day one. I was very happy to work near their desks. People are very professional and treat everyone equally regardles of their level of experience. It is normal to go out with your colleagues during lunch or after work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support and guidance from the day one. I was able to get help whenever I got stuck or was not able to solve something by myself. As a result, their support and feedback helped me to learn more new things and improve much quicker.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy from my first day. I had to learn new technologies as quickly as possible and start applying them on my daily basis to deliver a project. As a result, I felt involved in the project and I was very happy while learning new skills and working on the project.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was fully responsible for the given project as I was the only one who was working on it. I really enjoyed that because all responsibility was on my shoulders and I had to plan it by myslef as well as effectively manage my time to be able to complete the project on time.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed and training I received will help me in my degree studies and beyond a lot because I was working with the latest technologies to deliver the given project. This internship helped me to develop both technical and soft skills. Also, I learned about different areas within the business.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in the office was very good because all of the people are very friendly, supportive, polite and highly professional. This makes you feel welcomed and it is very enjoyable to work in such kind of environment among happy people. I think there is nothing that could be improved.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • All the internship was very well organised because I was given all needed requirements and I knew in advance what needs to be done which helped me to organise myself and plan my steps ahead. All the major meetings and learning sessions were booked and visible from the first week.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I believe that the company in terms of personal training and development highly invests in people. It can be a training course which you would do online on your own. It can also be a meeting where more experienced member of the team would help to understand some advanced concept.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I think it is really difficult to get into this organisation as there are only being offered graduate schemes for people who want to become traders. Also, they are looking for people who already have few years of experience if you want to get a permanent role different than a trader.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I felt that most of the students were very keen to get to know each other and socialise after work or even go for a lunch together. It was a great opportunity to know them personally and spend time together outside work. Also, it gave an opportunity to meet their friends.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area of living near the company is very expensive because it is based in London zone 1, Victoria area. There are some really great street food markets which are not expensive and are open during the lunch time. Also, there is a big variety of shops and restaurant around that area.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are some great places to choose from to go to and spend the night. However, it is not as good as compared to the other areas in London. Also, it is very expensive in this particular area and most of the products and services, in my opinion, are overpriced.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were not that many activities organised by the company to get involved in after work. However, the ones that were organised were a really high quality and I really enjoyed taking part in them. In one of them there was a chance to meet other people who work in the company for several years.
